"If you should die before me..." RIP Scott Weiland

Stars danced in the rooftop
But you saw no risk on it
So you danced in the razorblade
And when you got tired
of dancing with a foothold
you jumped into the void
Stars were exploding far away
New ones born all the time
You were a part of 'always'
but a sharpy little one
a silver endless supernova
you burnt every night
the best of the stage
I never listened to your band
I didn't like Velvet Revolver because of you
Not many of us did, really
We wanted Axl there, yeah
What a kind to belong to
It took so long for you to shine
Soon you hated it
You weren't born for the light
But you tried so hard, even know
fighting the addictions, you
fought harder than anyone
sorry for not liking Stone Temple Pilots
I always wanted to be a 90s kid
skinny and long haired and sad
almost there
not even close but now
I love almost all of you
Kurt's band and Pearl Jam
and Alice and Soundgarden
and even that little Billy Corgan
and definitely Blind Melon
but not STP
sorry Scott, wrong time
but I followed your last years
and always hoped that
you know, somehow...
you made it through life
doesn't matter anymore
age of miracles died before you
and I would like to say
I like your album 'Purple'
you really know how to sing
even if you were falling to pieces
with your twisted back
on the stage that time
with VR in Barcelona
your eyes cried for a finish
and Duff told you to sing
so you raged the encore
(I wasn't there, I just read)
Well, you know who you were
I ended up liking you
I'm so sorry that you have to die
now you belong to that
invisible little thing
that still remains
and shines
up there
may you find peace
you fought so hard
the bravest of us
sorry for not knowing it before
hard times for grunge
so I'll end quoting you
the best line someone could sing
to describe how I feel everyday
I wish I was your friend
goodnight

"If you should die before me
ask if you can bring a friend"

Scott Richard Weiland
